Biography

Spaik is a well-known and talented Mexican street artist who is celebrated for painting the Mexican people — in particular, the peasant farmers known as campesinos. He paints not only the tough realities of their lives, but the beauty of their traditions. Using bright colors, textures and patterns, his art honors native rural Mexicans. Drawing from the past and looking toward the future, these murals speak to the modern Mexican identity.
